Another Chapter as CEO

I’ve been offered and have signed a letter of intent to become the next CEO of Hudson Cloud Systems in New York. Like any new CEO stepping into an existing company, the transition takes time, and there is a lot of work ahead before I have my Day One moment on May 1, 2025. I’ll be commuting from Moose Lodge to places all over the US, including New York on a regular basis.

Thank you, Behan and Leon, for your faith in me. I’m looking forward to building a giant!

This post isn’t about that news so much as it is about two important things. The first is the humility I feel when such trust is placed in me and the honor of the role, regardless of the size of the company. I don’t take the job lightly, nor do I wear it as a badge to bolster my ego. I never have. I’d much rather put our people out front and give them the credit for their work.

I think of the mission ahead and the value I’m expected to bring to all shareholders. As I’ve said so many times in my writings, great companies come from the balance of just four things: shareholders, customers, employees, and suppliers. When that balance is out of alignment, it’s nearly impossible to run at optimum.

This will take me a while to transition fully, as I have existing clients that I can’t abandon, but it will limit my ability to take on new work. I won’t be full-time at Hudson for a while, but like all of these roles, it seems that once I start, they have a new momentum all their own. I’ve been giving advice to Hudson Cloud since the day the company began many years ago. I can still remember that first meeting at CES so long ago. I never thought I’d get to this point. I’m very excited about the new adventure, and as always, I’ll be bringing you along for the ride.
