Where’s the Decency?
I truly dislike writing about anything political, but enough is enough. If I have any decency in me, it’s time I say something.
I’m completely stunned by what I’m watching on the news and social media. It’s as if some people live in an alternate reality of some kind. I don’t care if you’re left or right; signs of Biden’s decline have been occurring since before he was elected.
Remember when he fell off the bicycle? The very reason he was on the bike in the first place was to show that he was not in a decline. He fell because he was!
There have been millions of posts on X. Millions! Showing video clips of him doing everything from freezing to crapping his pants while walking. There is even one video where he obviously pooped his pants while sitting, he knows it, and almost starts to cry. It was hard for anyone to watch who’s dealt with an aged parent.
The Democrats were quick to counter the videos and all mainstream media suppressed the clips whenever possible, but they were there. Thousands of videos, shot from different angles, and yet it was covered up, except on X. For anyone who has both feet on the ground, you saw it, the decline, and for all of us, we discussed it openly and wondered how in the world Biden was going to do a debate. We kept wondering, how is this going to go? For that reason, he did better than I was expecting, but I’m dumbfounded by the number of people who still think it was a bad night and a one-off. Or, that he had a cold. Seriously? They were shocked and surprised by his performance at first, followed by making excuses.
To any sane person, not so rabid about dementia as a political topic, this wasn’t a political opinion. This was someone in a steep decline and nothing more. That’s what I saw in the debates. I didn’t pay attention to what he said; I was 100% glued to the decline of his cognitive abilities as I’ve seen thousands of times on X. It all lined up!
Dementia isn’t something you get over like a cold. Biden was already shot full of drugs for the debate just to get him standing there for 90 minutes! He refused a drug test!!! Really? Again, this is right in front of you and you can’t miss any of it. Biden hasn’t done an unedited at length sit-down conversational interview with anyone in years, yet political zealots didn’t seem to notice everything was stitched together in tight segments. It’s been YEARS!!!! It’s always scripted, always short clips edited together, or his used of a teleprompter. Anyone who has an ounce of common sense can see the decline with their plain eyes and the cover-up that was occurring.
This isn’t a left or right-wing issue. This is about a human being in mental decline and the left still want to talk about hating Trump. I have trouble fathoming the degree of cognitive dissonance. In two weeks' time, Joe Biden will be far worse than he is now. He’s not going to level off or get better. He won’t make it to the Democratic convention and be able to give a coherent speech. This isn’t political wishful thinking. This is the medical reality of someone at his stage of dementia. He won’t know who he is or where he is, and this has been the case in and out of lucidity for some time. If you’re on the left, deal with that reality! He’s not going to be capable of talking coherently. Time to face the reality of human decline as it’s already gone on far too long.
This is like the pet owner who doesn’t seem to notice that their dog is damn near dead, but they won’t put them to sleep because they think they are going to be fine when the dog is suffering. Biden is not fine. He should be in a room somewhere with happy thoughts and nowhere near nuclear codes or national security decisions and be allowed to live out his life in peace with some ice cream or something. Don’t stress the guy while coaxing him to be a giant sock puppet.
We’ve long seen all of this as elder abuse. At times I’ve felt sorry for the guy, especially the time he crapped himself while sitting and almost started to cry. Anyone with an ounce of compassion could see the upset on his face as he was very aware of what just happened. Who would do that to a parent? If you Google it, the video comes up, but there are thousands of these videos and they don’t come up and have been hidden. I’m not going to bother with links. People can do their own homework on this.
I guess the reason I’m writing this post is that some basic human elements are not political. They wouldn’t do this with cancer. Well, maybe they would. This is what I find maddening. We’ve lost our decency when we trot someone out for political power reasons who barely knows where he is, and if he does, it’s just for a few minutes, then chants “four more years!” WTF! Seriously, the world has gone mad. This is cruel, inhumane, and definitely elder abuse. Any decent human can see that, but only in politics will we turn someone’s decline into “Weekend at Bernie’s” where they will wheel a dead guy out and say he will be fine. It’s time for just an ounce of compassion.
